Board of Directors

The Friends' Board of Directors
(Revised July 1, 2023)

The Board's Role

An important and vital volunteer opportunity is available through the Friends’ Board of Directors. A vast majority of Friends’ board members also are Library patrons, so they know what’s important to the visually impaired. They set priorities based on the vision and ongoing mission of the North Carolina Accessible Books and Library Services. Through quarterly board meetings and the annual June Membership meeting, the Friends’ board decides which projects to fund and creates a budget to cover the plans.
Ongoing committees within the board oversee regular projects and activities. Standing committees include Membership, Public Relations, and Outreach. Feel free to contact the president or any executive committee member with questions or to nominate a potential board member.

Board Details

The board meets at the Library on Capital Boulevard in Raleigh in March, June, September, and December for board meetings.  The Annual Membership meeting is held during the June quarterly meeting. All members are welcome to participate in all Board and Membership meetings.
To contact any Board member, call the President, Eddie Weaver, at 910-619-4084.
